A quirky invitation

Inviting a loved one to a pool party is quite easy by text message, but very unoriginal. By placing an egg on your chicken buoy, a tasteful decorative object, you can now invite your friends to a poul(e) party. They will be warned by a cackling sound made by their own buoy chicken! To RSVP, they simply need to place an egg on theirs. If, on the other hand, they have no intention of coming, they just have to ignore the object. Thus the crest of the emitting object will then start to move and break your egg to warn you of the negative answer, all with a delicate chicken cluck...

Poul(e) Party operates via Arduino. The prototypes were printed using stereolithography.
